A recent Road Transport Department (JPJ) operation in Kedah has caught the attention of netizens after a car salesperson’s trip to register a vehicle was cut short when the car was seized.
According to JPJ Kedah, the driver was en route to PUSPAKOM to register the vehicle when officers intercepted them on Jalan Perak.
Salesperson fined for multiple offences
Checks revealed that the driver had committed several serious offences, including driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without a valid licence, and failing to provide insurance coverage.
“The salesperson’s trip to register the vehicle at PUSPAKOM was interrupted when officers stopped them on Jalan Perak, Mergong, around 2:30 PM,” JPJ Kedah stated.
The vehicle was seized before it could be inspected, and a summons was issued. It was subsequently impounded for further action.

“This is what happens when you rush to register a vehicle. Just as the salesperson/runner was about to head to PUSPAKOM, someone else was using the trade plate. The poor salesperson had a rough day.”
“It should have been transported with a lorry loader because the vehicle wasn’t registered yet, had no road tax, and no number plates. Now, what was supposed to be cheap ended up costing even more after it got seized.”
“It’s such a simple thing, just use a trade plate. What’s up with this runner, seriously? Now the process to get it back is going to be long: first court, then pay the summons, only then can it be released.”
“Happened right in front of their eyes, so of course, the salesperson got action taken against them immediately, bad luck for sure. The poor car owner now has to wait even longer before they can get their car out. On top of that, the summons was issued to the company that owns the car.”
