Albert Sambi Lokonga was satisfied with his debut in Crystal Palace's defeat at Manchester United.

The Eagles' new No.8, who joined on a half-season loan from Arsenal earlier in the week, featured for the final 20 minutes of the match, which saw Palace come close to clawing back from two goals down following a red card for United's Casemiro.

Speaking to Palace TV after the game, Lokonga reflected: It was an intense game. I think they had one penalty [for Bruno Fernandes] that helped them, but otherwise it was a good performance from us. I think it was okay.

We tried, we really tried. We pushed. We had two strikers, we had a few chances, but it didn't go in. Hopefully the next game, it goes in.

I wanted to try to bring the ball forward, to try to connect with the players in front that was my job today.

I'm really happy to make my debut. Unfortunately we lost, but let's focus on the next game, and hopefully we win."
