Samsung announced that it will introduce AirDrop support to the Galaxy S26 series through its Quick Share feature, officially enabling file sharing to Apple devices including the likes of iPhones, iPads, and Mac systems.
Galaxy S26 Series Now AirDrop-Compatible

Quick Share has been developed to offer functionality comparable to Apple’s AirDrop by enabling wireless transfer of files, photos and links between nearby devices without requiring external applications or network setup. While originally intended for Samsung devices only, it later expanded to include all Android, ChromeOS and Windows devices, superseding Google’s earlier Nearby Share protocol.
As we have reported previously, EU’s regulatory push that forced Apple to adopt the common Wi-Fi Aware (Neighbor Awareness Networking) standard has effectively allowed both Google and Samsung’s peer-to-peer (P2P) file transfer protocols to be compatible with Apple’s now-compliant AirDrop protocol, which previously relied on its proprietary AWDL standard that barred any non-Apple device from initiating P2P connection to its devices. In the case of Samsung devices, users can simply enable “Share with Apple devices” in the Quick Share settings to get started.
The rollout is scheduled to begin on March 23, starting in South Korea before expanding to additional regions including Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia and Taiwan. Initial availability will be limited to the Galaxy S26 series, though Samsung says the feature support will be expanded to include other devices at a later date.
