Samsung Introduces New Odyssey G8, Odyssey G7 & ViewFinity S8 Monitors In Malaysia

Samsung has introduced its 2026 monitor lineup, featuring new models under its Odyssey G8, Odyssey G7, and ViewFinity S8 series. The new lineup includes the brand’s first 6K DFR (dual mode) gaming monitor, and all five models introduced are now available nationwide.

Leading the lineup is the 32-inch Odyssey G8 G80HS, with its DFR-capable Fast IPS panel capable of switching between 6K (6144 x 3456) 165Hz and 3K (3072 x 1728) 330Hz modes. That’s a very high resolution for even the most powerful GPUs on Earth like the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 to handle, as it is more than double the pixel count over 4K resolution (specifically, 2.56x more pixels). Suffice to say, upscaling and frame generation is certainly a requirement if you ever want to max out this panel’s capabilities.

The panel also supports HDR10+, although it did not actually achieve any of the VESA DisplayHDR certifications, as the panel maxes out at 350 nits, with only 400 nits peak brightness. Color gamut is also limited to just 99% sRGB (though there’s factory calibration at least), which is as basic as it gets when it comes to desktop monitors. On top of 1ms GtG response time, the monitor does get NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium designations as well.

If you want something slightly smaller, Samsung has the 27-inch Odyssey G8 G80HF, which features 5K (5120 x 2880) 180Hz and QHD (2560 x 1440) 360Hz modes; it is otherwise pretty similar to the G80HS with the same brightness, color, HDR10+ support, and anti-tearing capabilities as the 32-inch sibling.

Lastly, Samsung turns to productivity with the new ViewFinity S8 S85TH. The 40-inch display features a curved 5K2K (5120 x 2160) 144Hz panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio and a 1000R curvature, and it includes Samsung’s Easy Setup Stand for tool-free installation and adjustments. It also features TÜV-certified Intelligent Eye Care technology which adjusts brightness and color temperature based on ambient lighting conditions to reduce eye strain during long sessions. The monitor also supports Thunderbolt 5 connectivity with 80Gbps throughput and 140W charging support through a single cable connection.

Pricing

As for pricing, the Samsung Odyssey G8 G80HS is priced at RM6,299, while the Odyssey G8 G80HF retails at RM3,799; meanwhile, the ViewFinity S8 S85TH is priced at RM5,499. Additionally, the company also announced the pricing of its Odyssey OLED models which was announced in Malaysia last month, including the Odyssey OLED G8 G80SH at RM5,499 and the Odyssey G7 OLED G73SH at RM4,599.
