San Beda Alabang inks supply deal with ACEN RES

SAN Beda College Alabang (SBCA) on Monday said it had signed a supply agreement to switch its campus operations to 100-percent renewable energy.

Via a partnership with ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions (ACEN RES), San Beda opted into the Retail Competition and Open Access program, a government initiative that allows qualified electricity end-users to source their electricity from a licensed retail electricity supplier.

“By powering our campus with 100-percent renewable energy, we are showing our students that sustainability and excellence go hand-in-hand," San Beda College Alabang Rector Rev. Fr. Gerardo Ma. De Villa said.

Beyond the environmental benefits, the shift to renewable energy is expected to deliver significant operational efficiency, with projected annual energy savings of approximately P8 million.

The savings are to be redirected toward academic programs and student services.

"We are happy to welcome San Beda College Alabang into our growing community of partner schools, colleges, and universities that have trusted us with their renewable energy supply,” ACEN Senior Vice President Tony Valdez said.

ACEN RES is the retail electricity unit of ACEN Corp, whose shares on Monday were steady at P3.15 apiece. ED PAOLO SALTING
