,San Miguel acquires Ahanmisi, Hernandez from Terrafirma

SAN Miguel Beer got younger and added instant firepower after acquiring reigning PBA three-point champion Jerrick Ahanmisi and guard Paolo Hernandez from Terrafirma in exchange for Juami Tiongson, Filipino American rookie Chris Miller and the Beermen’s Season 52 second round draft pick.

The deal was approved and announced by the PBA on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old Ahanmisi is coming off a stellar Season 50 with the Dyip, where he leads the league in scoring with 21.3 points, to go along with 4.7 assists and 3.0 rebounds.

The former Adamson standout, who also won the Obstacle challenge in the recent All-Star Weekend in Candon City, easily brings in the outside shooting for a Beermen backcourt that is in need of young blood.

Hernandez also injects youth and dynamism for the Beermen, who took a quick exit from the Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup playoffs after bowing to the youthful Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.

Meanwhile, the 35-year-old Tiongson returns to the Dyip following a four-conference stint with the Beermen where he won two league championships.
