SANDAKAN: Rice supply in the district remains sufficient to meet current daily consumer needs.

Sandakan Paddy and Rice Regulatory Division (KPB) Head Azwan Amir advised consumers not to engage in panic buying amid stable supply conditions.

He said rice prices remain controlled and have not exceeded the prevailing regulated levels.

The statement was issued in a media release here on Friday, with the public also urged to channel any complaints or enquiries directly to the Sandakan KPB office or via the hotline 089227209.

Meanwhile, State Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry Minister Datuk Jamawi Jaafar, on Thursday recommended that consumers limit purchases to two packs of rice to ensure sufficient supply for all, noting that supply in Sabah for March and April remains adequate and under control.
