
Kota Kinabalu: Sandakan will host the Sabah State Maulidur Rasul Celebration 1443H/2022.
The Director of the Sabah State Islamic Religious Affairs Department (Jheains), Datuk Saifulzaman Sangul said the celebration will be officiated by Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin on October 9.
“We expect about 5,000 Muslims to participate in this celebration at the Sandakan Community Hall.
“Among the elements of the celebration is a yasin reading ceremony, tahlil and prayer to be held at the Sandakan District Mosque, followed by a banner competition and a parade which will be attended by Tun Juhar and the state leaders.”
“In addition, several other programmes will also be held including a religious forum Asnaf pilgrimage and marhaban pilgrimage,” he told the media after paying a courtesy visit to Tun Juhar at Istana Seri Kinabalu, on Thursday.
Also present during the event were Mufti of the Sabah State Government, Datuk Bungsu @Aziz Jaafar, Chief Assistant Director of the Mosque, Regional and District Office Division (Jheains), Awang Juri Awang Tahir and the President of the Sandakan Municipal Council, Benedict Asmat.
