MANILA, Philippines — The Sandiganbayan's Fifth Division upheld its resolution that declared former lawmaker Elizaldy Co "a fugitive from justice."
In a nine-page resolution promulgated last Jan. 8, the court denied "for lack of merit" the motion for reconsideration filed for Co.
"Being a fugitive from justice, accused Co is without standing to seek affirmative relief from this court," the resolution read.
The graft case filed in November 2025 by the Office of the Ombudsman against Co and other people was raffled off to the Sandiganbayan's Fifth Division.
The case stemmed from a road dike construction project in Oriental Mindoro.
