MANILA, Philippines – The explosion near the entrance to the Department of Justice (DoJ) after midnight on Monday made House Majority Leader and Ilocos Norte 1st District Rep. Ferdinand Alexander "Sandro" Marcos think of another security sweep of the House of Representatives.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. was set to deliver his fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) when the lawmaker was asked about the incident in a media interview.
"I have complete trust in the necessary authorities to, number one, find the perpetrators who did this. Number two, find out what the motive is," Rep. Marcos said.
"I think it's incumbent upon us to be extra wary...I think I'm gonna ask the PSG (Presidential Security Group) to do one more sweep of Congress after that news," he said.
