Sanusi a compromised leader, can’t control his mouth: Mahfuz

ALOR STAR – Caretaker menteri besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor is a compromised leader as he is now saddled with major court litigation matters that would likely impede his ability to be an effective menteri besar if Perikatan Nasional (PN) wins.

Kedah Pakatan Harapan chairman Datuk Seri Mahfuz Omar together with Kedah Umno liaison chairman Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid told a joint press conference that Sanusi needs to be mindful of the challenges he is facing.

“Sanusi needs to think of the state and rakyat he represents. If he is saddled with so many legal issues, can he govern effectively?” the duo asked.

His main issue is his inability to control what comes out from his mouth, said Mahdzir.

In the past week, it was reported that Sanusi was slapped with libel notices of demand from tycoon Tan Sri Vincent Tan and caretaker Selangor menteri besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

Besides that, he is facing two counts of insulting the sultan of Selangor.

Mahfuz also said that Sanusi has yet to settle the RM10,000 in damages which the court had awarded to him earlier this year, after Sanusi was found guilty of defaming the former.

“Perhaps after the (state) election, we can sit down at a mee goreng stall, and he can pay up what is due to him. He does not even understand how to manage money.”

On who PH would nominate as the unity coalition’s menteri besar should the bloc regain Kedah, Mahfuz said that the matter would only be made public after the state election is over.

“We have two or three names, which we will submit to the sultan of Kedah to seek his approval and blessings as well as advice. We have suitable candidates.”

Mahfuz said that there is no issue as the coalition has a person in mind, whom they hope can better manage the state than Sanusi.

Earlier, Mahdzir said that the incentives from the national unity federal government will help the farmers here to increase their productivity and boost food production for the country. – The Vibes, August 9, 2023
