If you cannot beat them, join them. That's the way to go Sanusi!
You got to love Sanusi who says although not invited to Lima'23, he would still go sit by the fence and use his binoculars to watch the event. Perhaps enjoy some laksa too.
You have to love this MB and do take off your hat to the man.
Applaud him, for he is persistent about going to Lima'23 although not invited by the Cabinet. After all the event is in his own backyard.
Well, Langkawi is not exactly his backyard but it's just across the pond from Kuala Kedah.
"I will bring my own binoculars and sit near the airport fence. I told my officers that if we weren't invited, we would buy a folding table and a pair of binoculars for each of us so we could sit by the fence and look at the navy ships and planes."
Even if you're invited you would still need a pair of binoculars to get a better view of warships in the distance or watch an airshow, sir!
The ordinary man in Kedah loves Sanusi because of his attitude towards life. If the world throws sour lemons at you, pick them up and turn them into lemonade. That's Sanusi for you.
And that's what he is about to do with his soured relationship with the federal government (some say it's PMX) that banned a Menteri Besar from attending an event held in his own state.
Sanusi told the press after an Exco meeting at Wisma Darul Aman in Alor Setar, that "There are those selling laksa near the fence so we can eat, they can't drive us away as visitors."
Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor may sit where he wants to. After all it's his own state and he's the boss.
Outside the perimeter fence of Lima'23 there will likely be many stalls serving delicious laksa Kedah with authentic noodles made of rice flour topped with sauce full of freshly caught fish in the neighbouring ocean. Sometimes they do serve laksa belud, (eels) too. YAB you might want enjoy a bowl or two of that too.
Sanusi is adamant about attending the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2023 (LIMA'23) this May. He said the state government has made preparation including accommodation, transport, and security for the grand event.
"As Langkawi Development Board (Lada) chairman and Menteri Besar, I have a multitude of positions related, so if I'm not invited, I will still attend."
"My officers booked hotel rooms months ago; even the vehicles and police motorcycles were also prepared," Sanusi said.
Anyway, the MB said he will ensure that all Kedah state government agencies will give their full commitment to ensure that Lima'23 event go smoothly.
If you need more help during Lima'23 you know where to find Sanusi. He'll be by the fence next to a laksa stall peering through his powerful binoculars.
See you at Lima'23.
