Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP), part of the State’s ruling Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition, became the first Sabah-based party to openly back Perikatan Nasional (PN) and its decision to play the role of the nation’s opposition together with PAS.

SAPP President Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee said the party’s supreme council endorsed the decision to remain as a member of the Perikatan coalition.

“The supreme council has reaffirmed its membership in Perikatan, which has pledged to play the role of check and balance at the federal level,” he said in a statement, Saturday.
