SAR for missing motoring influencer called off – no new leads found

THE search and rescue (SAR) operation for the missing influencer known as Ija after his car plunged into Sungai Tui, Bukit Kepong Muar, was called off this evening after the search entered its fourth day without any new leads.

Muar District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz said the operation at the control centre was stopped after several considerations were taken into account.

According to him, the search at the incident location has been completed and there are no new leads on the whereabouts of the victim.

"In addition, it gives the rescue team room to expand the search area to other locations that may be related to the man's disappearance," he said in a statement.

The stop of the SAR operation also facilitates coordination between the agencies involved, especially the possibility of other factors contributing to the victim's disappearance.

"During the four days of the operation, a total of 77 personnel were involved, which included searches on land, water and air several kilometers from the location of the incident.

"At this stage, the police hope that the public does not spread unverified information to avoid confusion and disrupt the investigation.

"Any information regarding the disappearance of the individual can be channeled at any nearby police station or  the investigating officer, Sergeant Major Ismail Ali at 013-7165432," he added.

It was previously reported that Ija - Tengku Nizaruddin Tengku Zainudin, 38, who is also a motoring influencer, went missing after the Perodua Axia she was driving plunged into the river.

However, Ija was not found in his vehicle.

Before the incident, the victim and his younger brother, Tengku Abdul Aziz, 30, traveled separately from Johor Bahru to Muar for business at 2pm.

The last time the victim contacted his family was at 4pm the same day. - July 18, 2025
