MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte left for an overseas trip covering Qatar, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, her office announced Tuesday, as her impeachment trial continues before the Senate.
Her itinerary includes a stop in Qatar, participation in a forum and a Filipino community event in the United Kingdom, as well as engagements in the Netherlands intended to strengthen ties with overseas Filipinos and promote Philippine interests abroad.
According to the Office of the Vice President, the trip combines official foreign travel with personal engagements, with Duterte shouldering all expenses and using no government funds throughout the trip.
In spite of the Vice President's absence, the OVP said it remained fully operational, with disaster response mechanisms on standby and its programs continuing through 10 satellite offices nationwide.
