PENAMPANG: The annual Kaamatan-Gawai celebration again brought indigenous Sabah and Sarawak businessmen closer in terms of collaboration, cultural exchange and a shared vision for economic progress.

Since its inception in 2007, the Kaamatan-Gawai celebration had symbolised unity between the two states, honouring East Malaysia’s rich indigenous heritage.

KCCI, established in 1996, and DCCI, founded in 2003, first forged ties during the Bumiputera Economic Congress in Kuala Lumpur. That connection laid the foundation for economic cooperation that continues to grow today.
