
Kota Kinabalu: The construction of a controversial 99-metre state flagpole project in Kuching that costs RM30 million has been reportedly completed.
Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg will unveil it on Dec .31, The Vibes has reported.
Sarawak's tourism minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the flagpole will be a new "tourism icon".
Critics have slammed the project, saying it is wasteful, said the report further.
