SIBU: Sarawak-based NEX EcoVentures Sdn Bhd has been crowned East Chapter Champion of Startup World Cup Malaysia 2026, earning a place at the global competition in Silicon Valley this November.
Founder William Hu said the Sibu-based company would carry the pride of Sarawak and Malaysia when it competes in the Startup World Cup Grand Finale alongside startups from around the world.
Hu said NEX EcoVentures was built on the belief that agriculture, food innovation, sustainability and the circular economy could coexist, with its work aimed at creating value for farmers, communities and the environment.
NEX EcoVentures emerged champion after competing against other East Chapter finalists, with the judging panel comprising representatives from the Sarawak Government, Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation, Sarawak Business Angel Network, FPT Software, BioVerde Technologies and Borneo Digital.
The company focuses on agriculture, food processing and agro-industrial waste management, with its operations centred on environmentally sustainable ventures.
