
Kota Kinabalu: A Sarawakian salesman has reportedly lost RM524,800 to an investment scam he found on Facebook.
The 33-year-old man from Padawan district was drawn to a supposed investment scheme called “BB Trade VIP” before contacting a supposed investment agent named as “Justin Kang”, a news report quoted Sarawak police as saying.
The scheme promised the salesman a 20-percent profit.
“The victim made 19 payment transactions to seven different bank accounts totalling RM524,800 between April 28 and June 5 this year,” said police.
