After a tenure of about 15 months as Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar, 2006-batch IPS officer Dhanpreet Kaur has been transferred as Director, Punjab Police Academy, Phillaur. She was the first woman CP of Jalandhar.
Her charge has been given to Satinder Singh, who was earlier serving as DIG, Ludhiana Range. He had also served as DIG, Border Range, and as SSP, Amritsar Rural.
Satinder’s father Swaran Singh too was in the police and served as SSP Jagraon in 1990s. He is closely associated with Dera Baba Murad Shah in Nakodar.
Meanwhile, Sandeep Kumar Sharma, who was the Joint Commissioner of Police in Jalandhar, too has been transferred to the post of DIG in Punjab Armed Police headquarters in Jalandhar.
