Kota Kinabalu: Two leading community organisations are combining life-saving action with free medical support in a major public drive in October.
“Calling on residents and business owners alike to step forward and give back,” SCCC president Datuk Frankie Liew said.
The Sabah China Chamber of Commerce Women Entrepreneurs (SCCCWE) and Heart to Heart Association will jointly host a Blood Donation Campaign & Free TCM Consultation come Sunday (Oct 4) from 10am to 6pm at ITCC Shopping Mall, Ground Floor, West Wing.
Far more than a standard charity drive, the initiative pairs urgent blood supply support with fully complimentary traditional Chinese medicine services — including professional health consultations, pulse diagnosis, acupuncture and cupping therapy — open to everyone.
Frankie hailed the effort as a powerful example of corporate social responsibility in action.
“Blood donation is a simple act that means the difference between life and death. When our business community stands together with the public, we literally save lives,” he said, praising SCCC vice-president and Women Entrepreneurs head Tan Siew Ling and her team for spearheading the project.
Tan urged broad participation across all sectors: “This is about caring for one another. Whether you can donate blood or simply come for a health check, your presence strengthens our community.”As an added token of gratitude, all successful blood donors will receive 5kg of rice plus essential food packs — available while stocks last.
The organisers thanked healthcare practitioners, volunteers and supporting partners for helping make the event possible.
