MPs to question ministers on Budi95 savings, East Coast development and wage growth strategies in today’s parliamentary session.

KUALA LUMPUR: The utilisation of savings from the Budi MADANI (BUDI95) initiative and strategies to align wage growth with skills are key topics for today’s Dewan Rakyat session.

Based on the Order Paper, Fong Kui Lun (PH-Bukit Bintang) will ask the Finance Minister to state the savings achieved through BUDI95 last year and the projected savings for 2026.

He will also seek clarification on how these savings are being used to ease the cost of living and strengthen targeted assistance for the B40 and M40 groups.

Datuk Dr Nik Muhammad Zawawi Salleh (PN-Pasir Puteh) will question the Economy Minister on plans to enhance economic progress in East Coast states.

His query focuses on balancing development between the East Coast and the rapidly developing West Coast.

Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Dr Wee Jeck Seng (BN-Tanjung Piai) will ask the Human Resources Minister to elaborate on strategies for wage growth.

He seeks details on strengthening collaboration with training institutions and the private sector to ensure wages keep pace with improvements in local workforce skills.

Also listed is a question by Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (Kuala Kangsar) to the Youth and Sports Minister.

He will inquire if the Perdana Fellow programme has been postponed and whether the ministry plans to introduce a new programme with improved modules.

After the question-and-answer session, the sitting will continue with the first reading of two bills.

The Finance Minister will table the Capitation Grant Bill 2026.

The Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister will table the Environmental Quality (Amendment) Bill 2026.
