Kota Kinabalu: The Chief Minister’s wife, Datin Seri Juliah Salag received a courtesy visit from the Implementing Committee of the Sayangi Keluarga Campaign and Tabah Programmes led by its Chairperson, Hajah Myrna Jimenez at the Sabah Foundation home here Monday.

Myrna, who is also the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Community Development and People’s Wellbeing Ministry (KPMKR) extended an invitation to Juliah to officiate the programmes to be held in Tuaran on Sept 13.

Myrna briefed Juliah that the Sayangi Keluarga Campaign and Tabah (Tegas Amanah Berani Adil Harmoni) programmes are organised by KPMKR and the Sabah Pemadam Women’s Affairs Bureau.

She said the two programmes aim to create a society that is caring and responsible for the elderly, in addition to providing awareness and understanding about drug abuse.

Also present were Sabah Women’s Affairs Department (Jhewa) Director Hajah Haslina Ismail, who is also the Sabah Pemadam Women’s Affairs Bureau Chairperson, Head of the KPMKR Unit Siti Mona Aspinah and the Sabah Pemadam Executive Secretary Jossie Ansilmus.

Meanwhile, Haslina also introduced the Jhewa management team to Juliah.

She also briefed on the department’s new programme which is the Jhewanita “Empowering Economic Sustainability Year 2022” Programme which will be held in Tuaran this year, involving participants consisting of single mothers and women under 40.

Juliah, who is also the Pertubuhan Muafakat Titipan Amal Isteri Wakil Rakyat Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (Mutiara GRS), urged Jhewa to work with other non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to help empower the economy of single mothers and the B40 group in Sabah.
