Scheme eases cost pressure for Sabah households

Kota Kinabalu: Households hit by rising electricity bills can now cut costs upfront and long-term, with Yayasan Pengguna Negara Malaysia (YPNM) Sabah welcoming the new Nur@Petra e-Rebate Programme.

Eligible buyers get up to RM200 off when purchasing five-star energy-rated appliances certified by the Energy Commission or ECoS.

YPNM Sabah Chairman David Chan said this help comes just when Sabahans need it most.

“With our hot weather driving heavy air-con use and power bills climbing, this is a perfectly timed relief. It lowers the price tag now — and keeps monthly bills lighter for years.”He stressed Sabah stands to gain most: energy-efficient models slash consumption significantly, making a real difference to family budgets.

“This scheme helps ease living costs, encourages greener habits and shows commitment to consumer welfare,” David added.

He urged all eligible households not to miss the chance — claim the rebate, save money and use energy wisely.
