  • A jury has found Colin Gray guilty of murder in a 2024 mass shooting at Apalachee High School that was allegedly carried out by his son, Colt Gray, who has yet to go on trial.
  • Prosecutors successfully argued that Colin Gray knowingly allowed his then 14-year-old son access to firearms and ammunition “after receiving sufficient warning that Colt Gray would harm and endanger the bodily safety of another.”
  • Colin Gray knew his son was obsessed with school shooters, prosecutors said. His son had a shrine in his bedroom to Nikolas Cruz, the shooter in the 2018 massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
  • Colin Gray was found guilty on all 27 counts against him, including two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of involuntary manslaughter, in the shooting that killed two students and two teachers. Another teacher and eight other students were injured.
  • The verdict was reached Tuesday after just a few hours of deliberation, following two weeks of witness testimony. Colt Gray’s next court appearance is set for mid-March.
