BEAUFORT: Two old buildings of Sekolah Kebangsaan Klias Kecil, Beaufort, which were used as stores for school equipment, were destroyed in a fire Thursday morning.
No casualties were reported.
Sabah Fire and Rescue Department Operations Centre, in a statement, said they received a call at 8.50am before firefighters arrived at the scene at 9.11am.
A total of 19 firefighters from the Beaufort, Kimanis, and Kuala Penyu Fire and Rescue Stations were involved in the firefighting operation.
“The first building, measuring 6.09 metres x 9.14 metres, and the second, measuring 6.09 metres x 30.48 metres, both of non-permanent structure, were completely destroyed by the fire.
“The firefighting operation ended at 10.55am after an inspection was carried out around the area to ensure no further hazards were present,” the statement read.
