The agent of Perr Schuurs admits Liverpool and Tottenham wanted the Dutch defender before his move to Torino.
Schuurs left Ajax in August for Toro.
And agent George Gardi told Tuttosport: "At the beginning, it seemed to me that we were talking about something impossible to complete. Liverpool, Tottenham or PSG had also moved.
"(Marc) Overmars' plan was to reject any proposal for a couple of years, and then try to make a collection at (Matthijs) De Ligt's level.
"He also refused higher offers than the one from (Torino president Urbano) Cairo.
"Then Overmars left Ajax, Schuurs was finished behind (Jurrien) Timber and Lisandro Martinez, and when Torino arrived we thought it was the right destination."
