Arsenal fullback Kieran Tierney was talked off the pitch after collecting an injury for Scotland on Saturday.
He was caught by the shoulder of Matt Doherty under a high ball early on, then stayed down for a long time after appearing to get caught on the head by the boot of Republic of Ireland striker Troy Parrott.
He eventually picked himself up, though, and was desperate to stay on as the Scots attempted to recover from John Egan's early goal.
Footage showed him remonstrating with Scotland's medical staff in a bid to remain on the pitch.
But Steve Clarke quickly introduced Celtic's Greg Taylor unto the fray and Tierney's night was done. Scotland went onto victory in the Nations League clash.
