Scott Eastwood has spoken out about a recent co-star who he says displayed “unacceptable behavior” after walking away from the project early.
Appearing on a new episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, the 40-year-old Longest Ride star and son of film legend Clint Eastwood, 96, recalled working with the unnamed actor before his abrupt exit.
“Some of the accountability in this industry is just unbelievable,” Scott said. “I just worked with somebody and, without saying any names, people get too famous for too long and think the world owes them something.”
The Fate of the Furious star remembered they had just started pre-production when his co-star “decided after we’d already spent a bunch of money that they just didn’t want to work with this other person and didn’t want to do the job.”
When Scott confronted his co-star, telling them, “OK, then you need to pay that money back to the person who invested in you.’ They were like, ‘I’m not gonna do that.’”
“It’s black and white. Do the right thing,” Scott said. “Don’t be a piece of s***. You can’t do that. That’s unacceptable behavior.”
While Scott understood that “it was their directorial, their story, their thing,” he didn’t agree with how they “took money from somebody.”
“I’ve seen some behavior in this business that is shocking,” the Fury actor added. “That would not go in other industries, but for some reason because they’re stars, right?”
Scott is one of eight children belonging to the Oscar-winning Million Dollar Baby star. Clint has been married twice and shares his children with six different women.
Earlier this month, Scott reacted to his half-brother Kyle’s claims that their father had retired from acting and directing.
“We’ll see. I have not heard that from his mouth at all,” Scott told ScreenRant. “So I don't know what that feels like.”
Raving about his father’s prolific career, Scott said it “has been something to admire, something to be inspired by, and continues to inspire me. The work, the artistry that he's done on and off screen. Producing, writing, composing, directing, acting. The body of work is incredible.”
Clint’s last film as a director was the 2024 legal thriller Juror #2, which starred Nicholas Hoult, Toni Collette and Zoey Deutch. His last on-screen appearance was in the 2021 western thriller Cry Macho.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Scott has worked as an actor for decades and has starred in several movies with his father, including Flags of Our Fathers, Invictus and Trouble With the Curve.
