  • BBC Radio 2 presenter Scott Mills was sacked after the corporation received "new information" regarding his personal conduct.
  • The BBC confirmed it was aware in 2017 of a police investigation into Mills from 2016 concerning allegations of serious sexual offences against a teenage boy.
  • The police investigation against Mr Mills was closed in 2019 without any charges being brought after police deemed there was insufficient evidence.
  • The BBC said that it "acted decisively" in terminating Mills' contracts on 27 March, following the new information and a direct conversation with him.
  • Following his dismissal, Mills' programmes were removed from BBC iPlayer and Spotify, and he was dropped as a patron by the charity Neuroblastoma UK.
