A group of people filmed themselves running away from violent protests in Liverpool on Sunday 4 August.

Scenes of unrest also unfolded in Southport, Belfast, Hartlepool, Hull, Stoke-on-Trent, Nottingham and Sunderland over the weekend, as far-right demonstrators took to the streets following the killing of three young girls in Southport last week.

Downing Street is expected to hold a Cobra emergency response meeting on Monday after “thugs” tried to storm hotels housing asylum seekers on Sunday.

Sir Keir Starmer has vowed rioters would “regret” engaging in “far-right thuggery” after days of escalating violence.
