Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SE) has confirmed that an incident involving two contractor workers occurred during electric pole replacement works near the traffic light junction heading to Taman Mawar, Sandakan, on Saturday.
The incident resulted in the death of one contractor worker, while another sustained injuries and is reported to be in a stable condition.
SE expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased and conveyed its sympathy to the injured worker.
Full cooperation is being extended to the relevant authorities to determine the cause of the incident, while all related works at the location have been temporarily suspended pending the completion of investigations.
SE views the incident seriously and remains committed to ensuring safety aspects are prioritised by all parties, including contractors, in every work activity and operation.
