SEAC hails Anwar’s budget 2023 priorities

Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Economic Advisory Council (SEAC) congratulated Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on his maiden 2023 budget of RM388.1 billion, which has several important objectives for Malaysia’s economic future.

SEAC Chairman Tan Sri David Chu said the Prime Minister had emphasised in his budget speech that racial differences should no longer be highlighted to preserve harmony and unity in the country.

He said Anwar’s foremost task was to assist the economy recover from the Covid-19 pandemic and addressing ongoing global uncertainties from the Russian-Ukraine war, reset the Malaysian economy into a more sustainable, balanced growth besides providing much needed relief in the form of lower income tax to lower income groups and assistance for small medium enterprises.
