Search continues for man who fell from Malaysia-Singapore Second Link

A 51-person SAR team is searching for a 33-year-old man believed to have fallen into the sea from the Linkedua bridge in Johor.

JOHOR BAHRU: A major search and rescue operation is underway for a local man believed to have fallen from the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link.

The 33-year-old is suspected to have fallen into the sea from kilometre 1.3 of the Linkedua bridge on Sunday (December 28).

Iskandar Puteri District Police deputy chief Supt Mohd Azlan Abdul Kadir said the KSAB police station received information about the incident at 8.20 pm.

A total of 51 personnel from multiple agencies have been mobilised for the SAR effort.

The operation involves the Marine Operations Force, the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, and the Fire and Rescue Department.

Personnel from the Civil Defence Force and Iskandar Puteri District Police are also involved.

“The SAR operation began yesterday and continued today with efforts to locate the 33-year-old victim using boats,” Mohd Azlan said in a statement.

He urged the public to provide any relevant information to assist the search.

Information can be channelled to the nearest police station or the Iskandar Puteri district control centre.
