
A SECOND victim from the multi-vehicle crash at the Bukit Kajang Toll Plaza has died, bringing the total number of fatalities to two, police confirmed today.
Kajang police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said the 48-year-old male civil servant succumbed to his injuries at 11am on Sunday, after spending nine days in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Kajang Hospital.
“It is with regret that we inform that another victim of the Bukit Kajang Toll Plaza accident has been confirmed dead,” Naazron said in a statement. “The remains will be handed over to the family once the post-mortem process at Kajang Hospital is completed.”
The crash, which occurred on 27 September, involved a lorry believed to have suffered brake failure, along with a car and two sports utility vehicles (SUVs). A one-year-old boy was killed at the scene, while seven others sustained injuries.
The 42-year-old lorry driver has been remanded until 1 October, and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which pertains to causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
Naazron added that the investigation report is still being finalised, pending a comprehensive analysis by relevant authorities. - October 5, 2025
