AVEVA, a global leader in industrial software driving digital transformation and sustainability, today announces that it has launched the second Industrial Innovation Challenge to call for innovative solutions to address industry-wide digital transformation challenges. The challenge, open to students and industrial professionals, is jointly organized by AVEVA together with ISDN Software Business, Stratus Technologies and the IEEE Computer Society.
The Industrial Innovation Challenge will focus on three industry verticals of Manufacturing, Farming and Facilities Management. Customer Industry Forums, in-person panel discussions where organizations will share about the pertinent challenges that they face in their digital transformation journeys, are being organized. These challenges will then be distilled into problem statements, and Industrial Innovation Challenge participants will be given two months to develop their solutions.
Iqbal Harjit Singh, Head of Partners, South Asia & Southeast Asia said: “The pandemic has pushed organizations over the technology tipping point and accelerated the digitalization. Organizations are realizing the need to embrace new technologies – such as Industry 4.0 solutions – to enhance efficiency, optimize operations and drive business agility and resilience.”
“The Industrial Innovation Challenge is more than a competition. It provides a common platform to facilitate discussion around the most pertinent issues surrounding the adoption of digital technologies, and an opportunity for participants the opportunity to apply their process design skills to solve real-world problems,” Iqbal added.
Tay Geok Kee, CTO, ISDN Holdings Ltd, said, “We are excited to be hosting the second Industrial Innovation Challenge this year. The Manufacturing, Farming and Facilities Management industries have gone through significant digitalisation over the past few years. The Challenge will offer students and educators an opportunity to be exposed to the latest automation technologies. Professional contestants will also get to network and share best practices with fellow industry players.”
Industrial Innovation Challenge participants will also work directly with the four leading organizing technology companies to develop, refine and testbed their solutions. Throughout the entire competition, they will also be mentored and supported by industry experts.
Dr Yap Chern Nam, IEEE Singapore Computer Chapter, said: “The pandemic has underscored the need for organisations to accelerate their digitalisation journeys and adapt to a new business environment. The Industrial Innovation Challenge creates an opportunity for participants to collaborate with industry experts to develop solutions and solve real-world issues bogging down businesses today. We hope this challenge will spur more partnerships among educational institutions and businesses.”
The Industrial Innovation Challenge takes place from September 2022 to December 2022. The top five winners will be announced on 25 November 2022 and will present their solutions live to the judges from AVEVA, ISDN Software, Stratus and IEEE.
