Kota Kinabalu: Faced with increasing medical expenses, the Society for the Sabah Heart Fund (SOSHF) is dedicated to gaining more support to ensure no child is denied life-saving treatment.
“We will continue saving young lives by seeking public support to help us overcome these financial hurdles,” said SOSHF President, Datuk Eva Susau, highlighting the organisation remains dedicated to providing the highest quality care to children in need.
Eva noted that while the SOSHF has been successful in its ongoing mission to provide life-saving surgeries for children with congenital heart defects, the escalating costs of such medical procedures remain a major challenge.
“SOSHF has successfully sent 10 patients in 2023 with the highest cost on one patient at RM93,579.70 where she had to undergo a second surgery to install a pacemaker to help for her heart,” she said.
