Kota Kinabalu: Dilapidated rural stations in Nabawan and Kalabakan can be upgraded if only Sabah police are entitled to 20 per cent of the RM431 million government allocation, said new Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun.
Allocations towards infrastructure and human resource would improve Sabah police’s service delivery, he said, at the Sabah Police Contingent in Kepayan Tuesday attended by Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani.
Acryl also witnessed Ranau born Jauteh’s former position filled by Deputy Commissioner Shahurinain Jais.

He told officers in attendance to act quickly in applying for projects worth RM500,000 to RM800,000.
“No tenders, just state the price. But quickly seize the opportunity because it up for grabs among 14 contingents and other formations. “If we can finish the RM80 million our chances of a budget is higher next year. It is imperative that we make this work. Meanwhile, he urged the public to protect themselves against scammers with knowledge.
“Technology is advancing and so are scammer tactics. They can cause huge losses without even needing a physical meeting. There are cases where the victim has not even had a conversation with the person over the phone,” he said, referring to love scams where the suspect pretends to befriend victims. He said the amounts in losses are huge with many victims losing their life savings meant for their senior years. “Never share your details through phone calls. Authorities will only schedule official appointments and nothing else. “Some people are even pulled into promises of irrational rewards like a monthly 10 per cent return on investment. “There are no such businesses that make continuous profits without any ups and downs and earnest hard work. Take the time to learn of potential scam tactics to avoid becoming another victim,” he said.
