Selangor’s RM30 million school aid programme will benefit six school types, focusing on infrastructure improvements and creating conducive learning environments

SHAH ALAM: The Selangor government has allocated RM30 million for its School Assistance Programme in 2026.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari announced this allocation during the tabling of the Selangor Budget 2026 at the State Legislative Assembly.

He stated this represents the highest allocation to date for the programme.

The funding will support infrastructure improvements and help create conducive learning environments for students.

“This allocation involves six types of schools such as Sekolah Rendah Agama, Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina, Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil, Sekolah Kebangsaan, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan, Chinese private secondary schools, and missionary schools,” he said.

Amirudin expressed hope that the incentive would boost motivation for both teachers and students to achieve educational excellence.

A total of 873 schools benefited from the assistance programme this year.

In response to recent bullying incidents, the state government will implement programmes with Parent-Teacher Associations in all Selangor schools.

These programmes will focus on eradicating bullying and crime in educational institutions.

Additionally, the state government will continue providing RM30 monthly KAFA Integrasi fee subsidies for B40 students from households earning RM3,000 and below.

Amirudin hopes this assistance will ease financial burdens for parents while ensuring children continue religious education.

“For this purpose, the state government has allocated a total of RM5 million specifically to cover KAFA fee subsidy assistance,” he said. – Bernama
