Selangor increases haj incentive to RM1,500 per pilgrim, benefiting 6,000 residents with a total RM9 million allocation for the 2026 pilgrimage.

SHAH ALAM: The Selangor government has allocated RM9 million to assist 6,000 state residents performing the haj pilgrimage this year.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said each prospective pilgrim will receive RM1,500, an increase of RM500 from the RM1,000 provided last year.

The funding is channelled through the Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) under the 1447H/2026M Muassasah Haj Incentive programme.

Since the programme’s implementation in 2022, a total of 18,000 muassasah pilgrims have received state assistance.

This includes 3,000 pilgrims each in 2022 and 2023, and 6,000 pilgrims each in 2024 and 2025.

To facilitate registration, eligible voters in the state can apply from February 23 to July 15, 2026.

Applications must be submitted at local Community Service Centres or State Legislative Assembly Coordinators’ Offices.

Prospective pilgrims need only bring a printed copy of their 2026 Muassasah Haj Flight Schedule showing the MUAS code.

“I pray that this effort will help ease the preparations of pilgrims who will become dhuyufurrahman (guests of Allah) this year, God willing,” Amirudin said.
