SHAH ALAM, Nov 25 — The Selangor government has announced a special financial incentive of two and a half months’ salary, or a minimum of RM1,000 for its civil servants.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the bonus, with a total financial implication of RM37.63 million, would be paid in stages on December 29 and in February next year.

In May, the Selangor administration gave out a month’s bonus in its special financial aid for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, bringing the total financial incentive disbursed for the year 2022 to two and a half months’ salary.

“I am happy to announce the special financial aid for the state civil servants this year, including those whose salaries are paid by the Federal government.

“This is a show of appreciation to the civil servants for their outstanding performance and commitment to ensuring the efficiency of the state government services,” said Amirudin during the closing of his tabling of the 2023 Selangor Budget at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly, here today.

Amirudin said that the civil servants will receive one month’s pay on December 29, while the remaining half month’s salary will be disbursed in February 2023, in preparation for the opening of schools in March.

He also hinted that another round of special payout will be given for next year’s Hari Raya season but the amount has yet to be determined.
