SHAH ALAM, Oct 20 - The Selangor Education Department (JPN) will fully cooperate with the authorities' investigations into the death of a Year One pupil after she experienced breathing difficulties at a school in Sepang.

The girl was reported to have had breathing difficulties at school and was taken to hospital for treatment.

"JPN Selangor extends its condolences and deepest sympathies to the pupil's family. The department will ensure that the family's welfare is given due attention, including assistance and psychosocial support as needed," it said in a statement today.

JPN Selangor will also ensure that the welfare and wellbeing of the school community affected by the incident receive due attention.

"The public is advised not to speculate or spread unverified information regarding the incident. All parties are urged to respect the family's privacy and give the authorities room to carry out their investigation," it said.

Earlier, the police confirmed that a seven-year-old girl died after she was believed to have experienced breathing difficulties while in class in Dengkil yesterday.

Sepang police chief ACP Norhizam Bahaman said they received a report on the incident at 7.30pm yesterday.
