SHAH ALAM, Jan 7 — Selangor FC is targeting victories in the remaining eight matches of this season’s Super League.
The club’s chief executive officer Johan Kamal Hamidon said winning is crucial to maintaining second place in the league, thereby securing a ticket to next season’s AFC Cup competition.

“If the club finishes second, we will be back in Asia again. Whether we can catch Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) depends on their chances of dropping points.
“Being eliminated from the Malaysia Cup was disappointing. Although the Challenge Cup is not our main target, Selangor FC will strive to achieve the best possible results,” he told Media Selangor.
Meanwhile, Johan said they appreciated the RM500,000 incentive provided by the Selangor State Development Corporation for successfully qualifying for the FA Cup final.
“The contribution was handed over to the players before the final match, but the club lost to JDT.
“Nonetheless, this contribution is a recognition of the players’ hard work and commitment that earned them a place in the final,” he said.
