Selangor’s work-from-home plan aims to cut fuel use and boost flexibility, with a flexible rollout expected in weeks to manage energy and employee needs.

SHAH ALAM: The Selangor state government is finalising a work-from-home plan for its administration to reduce fuel consumption and improve work flexibility.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the initiative would also help conserve energy amid fluctuating global oil prices linked to the ongoing West Asia crisis.

He stated that the state’s Human Resource Division is preparing the plan, which is expected to be finalised within two to three weeks if all proceeds smoothly.

“The implementation will be flexible rather than blanket to avoid overburdening employees and to ease pressure on energy supply, both now and in the future,” he told a press conference.

In a separate development, Amirudin said the state government is strengthening its preparedness to ensure supply stability and service continuity.

He emphasised the need for readiness to handle any uncertainties that could affect public well-being, noting the current situation remains under control.

Amirudin added that a follow-up session would be held tomorrow, with a meeting and briefing alongside Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim scheduled for Thursday.
