Selangor flood situation improves, 10 families remain displaced

KUALA LUMPUR, June 28 - The situation continues to improve in the flood-hit area of Selangor, while Perak recorded a slight increase in the number of evacuees this morning.

In SELANGOR, 16 people from 10 families are being accommodated at a relief centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) RTB Bukit Changgang as at 8am, compared to 309 people from 150 families last night.

In PERAK, the number of evacuees taking shelter at the Dewan Bandaran Gopeng in the Kampar district since June 20 rose slightly to 52 people from 16 families, compared with 51 people from 16 families last night.

The Perak State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) Secretariat, in a statement, said all of them had been placed at the relief centre after their houses in Kampung Ulu Geruntum, Kuala Razila, were cut off following the collapse of a bridge caused by a water surge incident.
