In a heartfelt gesture ahead of Aidilfitri, Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari has announced a special financial aid package for civil servants in the state. This special aid, equivalent to one month's salary or a minimum of RM1,000, will be a welcome relief for many during this festive season. The aid is scheduled to be disbursed on April 8, providing timely assistance to those in need.
Civil servants eligible for this aid include those under the administration of the Selangor State Secretary (SUK) as well as permanent federal civil servants serving in departments under the SUK. Additionally, community leaders such as chairmen and secretaries of the village community management councils (MPKK), as well as supervisors of Wanita Berdaya Selangor and Penggerak Belia Selangor centres, will also receive a special payment equivalent to one month's allowance.
Acknowledging the significant contributions of mosque officials, Amirudin announced that nazir, imam rawatib, siak, and muezzin, along with guru rakyat under the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS), will receive a special assistance of RM500. This recognition of their efforts underscores the importance of their roles within the community.
The total financial implications of this aid package are estimated to be approximately RM45 million, reflecting the state government's commitment to supporting its civil servants and community leaders during this festive period. The announcement was made during the Mahabbah Ramadan Madani programme in Shah Alam, highlighting the government's efforts to ensure that the spirit of giving and compassion is upheld during Ramadan and Aidilfitri.
The aid package is expected to provide relief to civil servants and community leaders who may be facing financial challenges, especially in light of the ongoing economic uncertainties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. By providing this assistance, the state government aims to alleviate the burden on those who serve the community tirelessly throughout the year.
This announcement comes as a beacon of hope for many, signaling the government's commitment to supporting its citizens during challenging times. As Malaysians prepare to celebrate Aidilfitri, this gesture serves as a reminder of the importance of unity and compassion, values that are at the heart of the festive season.
