SERDANG, June 26 - Selangor offers a complete, resilient aerospace ecosystem, making it the best destination for global companies to expand their regional operations, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He explained that as the world’s conventional aerospace hubs face geopolitical challenges, supply chain disruptions and capacity constraints, Selangor has emerged as a stable supply chain base for the industry until 2030 and beyond.
He said the state government isn’t looking to be just a traditional aerospace hub, but also a supply chain guarantee that can support sustainable growth.
“As an original equipment manufacturer, or OEM, you certainly understand the risks of relying on one location. Selangor offers stability and resilience that has been developed over the past decade.
“Selangor has strong relationships with companies in the United States, China and Europe, in addition to continually promoting Selangor through international events such as the Paris Air Show and Farnborough Air Show,” he added.
Amirudin’s text speech was read out by state executive councillor for investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han during the Selangor Aerospace Forum, under the auspices of the MyAERO Summit, at MAEPS here today.

Amirudin said Selangor Aero Park (SAP), which was launched last year, cemented the state’s position as an aerospace hub by providing large-scale space for Tiers 1 and 2 companies to increase production capacity and fulfil global demand.
He said the Subang Airport Regeneration Plan (SARP) by the federal government has also opened doors for maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) players, especially those servicing business jets.
“Subang’s strategic location allows companies to offer (shorter) maintenance times, thus increasing value to business aviation customers.
“More than two-thirds of the country’s aerospace industry is now based in Selangor, proving that the state has the strongest ecosystem for long-term investment,” he said.
Amirudin also said the Speed Selangor Policy has been an important catalyst in increasing the state’s competitiveness and attracting high-impact aerospace investments.
“Through Invest Selangor, the state is removing bureaucratic challenges that could slow industry progress.
“If you bring in technology, capital and global networks to Selangor, we will ensure the construction of facilities, provision of manpower, and integration of operations can be smoothly implemented,” he said.
Previously, Amirudin said Selangor could become a major aerospace hub in Southeast Asia, with more than 67 per cent of the sector’s industry players now based in the state.
