Selangor stays smoggy as API readings still unhealthy

SHAH ALAM, Oct 16 - All six monitoring stations in Selangor recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 2pm today.

According to the API Management System (APIMS) portal, Johan Setia had Selangor’s highest reading at 186, followed by Klang (180), Petaling Jaya (174), Shah Alam (170), Banting (166), and Kuala Selangor (153).

The highest API reading in Malaysia was logged in Johor’s Pasir Gudang at 207, the only town whose air quality is in the very unhealthy category.

Overall, 30 localities in Malaysia recorded unhealthy API scores, with 37 stations showing moderate readings and no towns with good air quality.

An API reading of zero to 50 is good, 51 to 100 is moderate, 101 to 200 is unhealthy, 201 to 300 is very unhealthy, and anything above 300 is hazardous.
