Selangor Sultan calls for stronger unity, harmony on Malaysia Day

SHAH ALAM, Sept 16 - Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin extend their best wishes for Malaysia Day 2026 to all Malaysians.

Their Royal Highnesses hope that this significant date will always be remembered as a symbol of national unity, uniting the people of Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Sarawak within a sovereign nation.

“This annual celebration on September 16th commemorates the historic formation of Malaysia,” the statement shared on Selangor Royal Office Facebook today.

They also call upon all citizens to continue strengthening unity, cherishing the peace and harmony enjoyed, and fostering a spirit of tolerance and mutual respect, regardless of race, religion, or culture.

Their Royal Highnesses pray that this spirit of togetherness remains a guiding principle for the people in safeguarding the nation's well-being, ensuring Malaysia remains peaceful, prosperous, and united for present and future generations.
