PETALING JAYA: Selangor’s Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has given his consent not to dissolve its legislative assembly in line with the dissolution of Parliament yesterday.

This will allow the state to carry on its administration and focus efforts on other more pressing issues.

In a statement, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the consent was given during an audience he had with His Majesty at the Istana Bukit Kayangan in Shah Alam this morning.

Amirudin said he briefed Sultan Sharafuddin on the state government’s preparations for possible floods as well as the Selangor state budget for 2023.

He also added that the annual state budget will be tabled at the legislative assembly this year.

Yesterday, caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced the dissolution of Parliament, paving the way for the 15th general election (GE15).
